COSATU NATIONAL STRIKE ACTION

COSATU has given notice of its intention to embark on a nation-wide strike, affecting major cities, including Durban, on 30 April. This is to protest against government’s decision to proceed with e-tolling in Gauteng. The process has been properly observed and this will be a protected strike. The matter of the Gauteng e-Tolling is due to be heard in court tomorrow. If the litigants are successful, the national strike may be averted, but if not it is expected that the strike will go ahead. Please read the Daily Digest (DCCI) for any update.

As always, the month of April plays havoc with with our production schedule. We have decided that the most prudent course of action would be to close on Monday, 30 April 2012 and re-open on Wednesday, 02 May 2012.

Discussions with staff have resulted in a plan to make up the lost time on Friday afternoons starting today. Consequently we will be available till 16H30 today, 20 April 2012 and 4 May 2012. We will revert to normal 13H30 closure on a Friday, thereafter.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
